January 26, 2023

On January 15, 2023, Diane Faith Currin Ullrich Nelson, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, lost her 16-month battle with lymphoma. She was 79 and surrounded by her family at their Tuftonboro, NH home.

Diane was born June 13, 1943, in Brooklyn, N.Y. of proud parents, John J. Currin of Brooklyn and Mary Kerley Currin of Stamford, CT. A graduate of St. John’s University with a Master’s Degree in Education, she taught first grade at PS107 in Brooklyn. Diane was the proud mother of five children and was very proud of her seven grandchildren.

A longtime resident of Concord, where all her children graduated from Concord-Carlisle High School, Diane and her family enjoyed their Lake Winnipesaukee home in Tuftonboro for almost 60 years. Diane loved her pontoon boat on the lake and was an avid board game-player, especially dominoes with her neighbors. She loved to read and swap books with her close cousin, Kathy.

Diane leaves her husband Joseph Nelson of Tuftonboro, NH, her sister Suzanne Currin Comeau of Franklin, MA, her beloved cousins, Joan Mulcahy of Colorado, and Kathy Mauger of Virginia. She is also survived by her children, David Ullrich of Tuftonboro, NH, Paul Ullrich of Maynard, MA, Thomas Nelson of Chicago, IL, Peter Ullrich of Tuftonboro, NH, and Marta Travers of Newton, MA, and her grandchildren, Harper, Charlie, Zachery, Elizabeth, Emma, Maggie, and Jack.
