Photo Exhibit: West Concord Junction’s industrial history, on display at the Concord Council on Aging in the Harvey Wheeler Community Center, 1276 Main St., from March 29 to May 11. Parking is behind the building off Church Street. It is presented by the West Concord Junction Cultural District Committee. The public is welcome to come by to see the exhibit Monday – Thursday, 8:30 a.m.– 4:30 p.m. and Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 2 p.m, The building will be closed on Monday, April 17, for Patriots Day. The exhibit features reproductions of historic photos of buildings, workers, and products from West Concord past and present, including the Damon Mill, the Allen Chair Factory, the Boston Harness Company, the Bluine company, the Thoreau pencil factory, the Dovre Ski Binding Company, Pratt’s Gunpowder Mill, Trashology, and more. Photos are courtesy of the Concord Free Public Library, the Concord Museum, the Plimoth Patuxet Museums, Old Sturbridge Village, the Maynard Historical Society, the Menasha Corporation, and Trashology. The Industry Project is presented by the West Concord Junction Cultural District Committee, with funding support from the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency. The project is also made possible by the generous West Concord community funding support of presenting sponsors Trashology and the Green Labs Recycling and supporting sponsor Plug.
