Adult Programs

“The World’s A Stage Players Present the ‘Playing Shakespeare’ Workshops” Sunday, January 8, 1:30 PM

The World’s A Stage Players are excited to host a series of five workshops that will work with the scenes, speeches, and sonnets from Shakespeare. The workshops will tackle using both verse and prose, finding character through language, exploring speeches and soliloquies, and utilizing irony, passion, and coolness. “CMS Building Project Info Session” Wednesday, January 11, 10:15 AM

Join the Concord Middle School Building Committee representatives to learn everything you need to know about the building project before the 1/19 special town meeting. No registration required. This program will take place at the Fowler Branch Library.

“Virtual Films at Fowler: The Wages of Fear” Wednesday, January 11, 7:00 PM on Zoom

In Henri-Georges Clouzot’s existential classic The Wages of Fear, four hapless workers drive trucks loaded with nitroglycerin across a dangerous mountain pass. Watch the film on Kanopy (free for Concord patrons with a Library card) before the discussion. A lively discussion with other film fans will take place on Zoom. Teen Programs

“Teen Dungeons and Dragons” Wednesday, January 11, 3:30 PM.

Teens! Join Dungeons and Dragons at the Teen Lounge in the Main Library. Play casual one-off games or start a campaign with others. Beginners encouraged. Experts expected to help out! No registration required.

“Teen Board Game Advisory Board” Thursday, January 12, 3:30pm.

Join The Board Game Advisory Board! Receive your very own Board Game Board Member membership card and choose from our game selection at the Library, plan which games we purchase in the future, or bring your own board and card games from home. Popcorn will ALWAYS be provided.

Children’s Programs

“Lego Club at Fowler for Ages 12 and Under” Friday, January 13, 3:30 PM

Come play with us! Join fellow builders to construct from the Fowler Branch Library’s Lego collection. Try out weekly challenges or work on your own project. No registration required.

“Storytime with Author Josh Funk” Saturday, January 14, 10:30 AM

Meet award-winning children’s author, Josh Funk, in the Children’s Library at the Main Library! Funk will read aloud from the popular “Lady Pancake and Sir French Toast” series’ newest installment The Great Caper Caper, as well My Pet Feet, and more. After the stories, he will lead a fun character creation drawing/writing activity. No registration required.

Our lovely Robo 3D printers showed up for our Workshop makerspace! They’re already chugging away with staff test prints. We can’t wait to share them with the community when the Workshop opens up later this year!
