Lucia (Morazzi) Wier, 71

August 28, 2023

Lucia (Morazzi) Wier, 71, passed away peacefully, with her daughter Kate present, on August 25, 2023 following a courageous battle with lung cancer.

Lucia was born in Cambridge, MA on May 30, 1952. When she was six years old her family moved to Concord, MA where she was raised with her five siblings. She graduated from Concord-Carlisle Regional High School in 1970.

It was in Concord where she brought up her daughters before later moving to Yarmouth Port, MA with her husband Bob.

Lucia was a talented artist, painting in both acrylic and watercolors. Her early works included landscape, still life and portrait. She later focused on making large abstract paintings.

She was also an avid knitter and made beautifully decorated cakes. During her career as a hair stylist, she enjoyed making people feel and look their best. Her creativity knew no bounds.

Lucia’s ever-present quick wit was cherished by her family and friends. A free spirit on this earth, she marched to the beat of her own drum unapologetically.

Lucia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Wier, her parents Peter and Nancy Morazzi, and her Boston Terrier, Bella.

Lucia leaves behind her daughters Nicole Szulc and Kate McInerney, son-in-law Sean McInerney and three grandsons. She is also survived by her siblings and their spouses, Robert Morazzi (Renee), Catherine Morazzi-Marcel (Bruce), Mary Morazzi-Henderson (David), Deborah Barradale (David), and Paula Hite (Bill) as well as several nieces and nephews and extended family.

Family and friends are invited to gather for a period of visitation on Thursday, August 31st from 9:30 to 10:15 am at Dee Funeral Home, 27 Bedford Street, Concord Center. Lucia’s Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am in St. Bernard’s Church at Holy Family Parish, 12 Monument Square, Concord Center. Burial will follow at Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Concord.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make tribute gifts in Lucia’s memory to Regional Hospice either online, or by mailing a check payable to Regional Hospice, Attn: Philanthropy Department, 30 Milestone Road, Danbury, CT 06810.
