A sea of fans in pink in support of ovarian cancer research at the Kicks for Cancer event at Concord-Carlisle High School, an event that started in 2007 with one soccer game to honor the life of Lois Wells, the mother of Concord-Carlisle soccer alums Steve Wells and Dan Wells, who died of ovarian cancer in 2007. Steve Wells, now a special education teacher at Concord-Carlisle, has seen the annual late September event grow into an all-day tournament with some of the region’s top boys’ and girls’ soccer teams.
