Successful coat drive for families at emergency shelter

November 5, 2023

The Concord-Carlisle Community Chest, in partnership with First Parish in Concord and with the help of volunteers from the PALS program, collected close to 500 fall and winter coats for children and adults living at the Concord Emergency Shelter. Coats were distributed Friday, October 13.

In March, Community Chest began working with Making Opportunities Count, the agency managing the shelter, acting as a hub for community donations and critical resources to support the approximately 300 residents.

The Concord-Carlisle Community Chest is a 75-year-old organization that offers opportunities to donate, volunteer and participate in community-wide events. For ways to support the families at the shelter or learn about other Community Chest initiatives, visit www.cccommunitychest.org.
