Thanksgiving game raffle benefits Scholarship Fund

November 9, 2023

The Scholarship Fund of Concord and Carlisle is once again helping cheer on the Concord-Carlisle High School football team by sponsoring a 50/50 raffle that also benefits high schoolers. The Scholarship Fund will sell tickets at the Patriots’ Thanksgiving Day football game against the Lexington High School Minutemen at 10 a.m. at CCHS Memorial Stadium.

The drawing will be at halftime, and the winning ticket holder receives half of the raffle sales. All net proceeds will be used by The Scholarship Fund to support need-based college scholarships for students who live in or have graduated from secondary school in Concord or Carlisle. The Scholarship Fund will also be designating donations from the raffle to The Charles A. Robichaud Scholarship Fund, the Named Fund created by the Robichaud family to honor longtime CCHS football coach and science teacher Al Robichaud.

“We are thrilled to be in Memorial Stadium this year, and it is especially meaningful for us to be honoring Al Robichaud, a wonderful coach and teacher who gave so much to the Concord and Carlisle communities,” said Travis Minor, chair of The Scholarship Fund. “We hope the 50/50 raffle brings a little extra excitement to a terrific day.”

In 2023, The Scholarship Fund awarded nearly $400,000 in scholarships to students from Concord, Carlisle, and Boston; in the last 56 years, more than $3 million has been awarded to over 1,400 students.
