The Beacon Santa Fund is helping more than 500 children this year in 12 towns, including Concord, continuing a tradition that began back in 1965.
The fund, which helps families celebrate the holidays, relies on donations from residents in Acton, Bedford, Billerica, Boxborough, Chelmsford, Concord, Lexington, Lincoln, Littleton, Maynard, Stow, and Westford. A key part of fundraising is the Beacon Santa Telethon, run by Maynard High School students the second weekend of December each year.
