Concord doctor delivers elaborate gingerbread house to library
December 6, 2023

Every fall, Dr. Andrea Resciniti morphs from surgeon to architect. Her building materials of choice: gingerbread, icing, and a lot of candy.

On December 2, she delivered her latest work to the Concord Free Public Library to applause and astonishment from visitors. It was the 29th gingerbread house she’s made and the 16th donated to the library, which annually keeps them on display (and away from curious and hungry admirers) until early January.

Resciniti is a general surgeon at Emerson Hospital. She makes all the gingerbread by hand and builds off a general design, resulting in an elaborate candy-coated wonderland.

The house, which weighs about 130 pounds, was delivered fully constructed. In 29 years of creating them, she has yet to drop a single one.
