February 7, 2024

Helen Theresa Clarke, age 90, of Concord Massachusetts, formerly of Brighton, passed away, after a long and courageous battle with cancer, peacefully in her home surrounded by loved ones on February 4, 2024.

Helen was born on March 15, 1933, in Brighton, MA to Patrick and Mary Minihane. She graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Academy and Saint Elizabeth School of Nursing and went on to become an operating room nurse at the former Boston City Hospital and New England Medical Center.

Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Burdick Greene Clarke in 1966 and her beloved son, John Patrick Clarke in 1986.

Despite having these difficult losses, Helen went on to live a full life devoted to her family and friends. Helen was best known for her humor, kindness, and intelligence.

Helen was a beloved sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend to many people. She is survived by her sister, Maureen Minihane, brother Paul Minihane and his wife Susan, and sister-in-law Helen Minihane. Helen also had many nephews, nieces, and beloved grandnieces and nephews whom she loved and touched deeply.

Helen was preceded in death, not only by her husband and son, but by her parents Patrick and Mary Minihane, her brother Denis Minihane, and her brother Robert Minihane.

Helen would always say, “You don’t go to Heaven until you’re invited.” At the end of her life, I am sure she gave God a big hearty smile saying, “I accept.”
