Concord schools closed Tuesday as snowstorm threatens heavy snow

February 12, 2024

Gather your snow shovels and put away the trash barrels — a winter storm is expected to blow in Monday night, bringing as much as 4 to 8 inches of snow to the region. School is already called off for Tuesday.

Concord has canceled trash and recycling pickup on Tuesday, the town said in an email blast. Neighborhoods on a Tuesday schedule will have their trash picked up on Saturday, with no other areas affected.

Town Manager Kerry Lafleur told the Select Board Monday night that nonessential municipal offices would be closed Tuesday because of the weather and nonessential employees would have the ability to work remotely.

Overall, she said, “our departments are ready to tackle the storm.”

Snow is expected to fall from 1 a.m. Tuesday to 1 a.m. Wednesday. Travel will rapidly become difficult Tuesday morning and last into the afternoon due to low visibility and snow covered roads, the National Weather Service reported.
