The Concord Fire Department rescued a beagle/basset hound mix named Sally after she fell through the ice at Warner’s Pond Monday.

According to a fire department post on their Facebook page, the dog was almost 400 feet offshore when she fell through thin ice on the West Concord pond.

Crews donned ice rescue suits and used an inflatable rescue boat to trudge through the thin ice to rescue the pup. Sally was bundled in blankets after she was carried to shore and immediately taken to the vet to be treated for severe hypothermia.

The unidentified owners later told the department that Sally was recovering from her chilly ordeal.

Back in January, the fire department participated in a dramatic rescue of a dog and its walker at a pond near Balls Hill Road.
