Both CCHS boys and girls soccer move on to Quarterfinals

Senior captain Brady Poor scored his second goal of the game with just under seven minutes remaining to give Concord-Carlisle High School a 2-1 win over Leominster and a spot in the quarterfinals of the Division One State Tournament.

The Patriots, 17-0-1, will host #25 seed Beverly, 14-5-2, on November 11 at 2 p.m. on the Doug White Turf Field #1. Beverly has won three straight including a 3-2 win over DCL member Newton South in the round of 32.

C-C Girls Soccer Advances, Field Hockey Season Ends

Concord-Carlisle girls soccer defeated Winchester 2-0 at Winchester Tuesday afternoon to advance to the quarterfinals against an opponent to be determined.

Seniors Charlotte DiRocca and Caroline Coletti scored second-half goals for the Patriots. Ally Berlam made some outstanding saves for the clean sheet.

C-C, 15-3-2, will await the outcome of the match between #1 seed Natick and #16 seed Weymouth on November 9 at 3 p.m. at Natick to find out who it will play next.

Field Hockey dropped a 2-1 game at Algonquin on Tuesday to bring to an end its 2023 season. Ninth-grader Avery Swenson scored the lone Patriots goal. The team finishes with a 14-5-1 record.
