Andrew Herchek announces candidacy for School Committee

January 11, 2024

Concord, Massachusetts holds a special place in my heart. Born at Emerson Hospital and raised on Strawberry Hill Road, my roots run deep in this community. I have fond memories of my years at Thoreau, CMS, and CCHS filled with competitive sports, memorable teachers and courses, and lasting friendships. CCHS was also where I met my wife, Whitney. We share a sense of pride for the Concord Public Schools, especially now with a kindergartener and third grader attending Willard, which has motivated me to run for the School Committee.

As someone who has benefited from Concord’s dedicated teachers/administrators, excellent extracurriculars, and top-tier academics, my goal is to maintain and enhance these opportunities for future generations.

With a background in mathematics and mechanical engineering, and a master’s in business administration, my expertise will be particularly helpful in addressing STEAM topics and navigating the complexities of the annual budget. Overall, I am committed to leveraging data and community input to address challenges, both present and future, and look forward to collaborating on solutions to ensure the best possible outcomes for all the children in our district.
